PACE Behavioral Driving Program

We can assist in minimizing and managing risks related to your fleet through rigorous analysis, in-person training, and raising awareness of best practices.

Unintended, at-risk behavior can lead to vehicle collisions, which are among the primary causes of workplace fatalities and injuries. Businesses face numerous challenges when it comes to ensuring safe vehicle operation and reducing the risk of incidents. These challenges include the need to develop and promote effective safety practices, identify and address at-risk behaviors, and mitigate collision costs, time away from work, liability, and workers' compensation claims.

Marsh's PACE Behavioral Driving instruction is specifically designed to help clients overcome these challenges. By targeting four critical elements of safe vehicle operation — plan, analyze, communicate, and execute — the program trains drivers to identify and avoid at-risk behaviors and practice safe driving techniques. By implementing PACE, clients can enhance the safety of their drivers and the public, while also reducing the financial and legal risks associated with vehicle collisions.

A flexible and cost-effective training program

Our PACE service includes a training program that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your operation. It consists of six short modules that drivers can take at any time, each requiring approximately 15 minutes. The program uses various techniques such as videos, animations, and 3D models to help drivers identify at-risk behaviors and take action to eliminate them. Quizzes, tests, and exercises are also used to assess drivers' knowledge. The training can be integrated within your learning management system, allowing you to track attendance and assessment scores.

In addition to the online instruction, the PACE Behavioral Driving Program also includes behind-the-wheel instruction called "PACE Drives" for participants to practice the concepts learned. Marsh provides training sessions for your instructors to help them conduct these evaluative drives. Classroom training is also available, where Marsh specialists can either train drivers directly or train designated employees to become PACE Behavioral Driving instructors.

As part of the PACE series, Marsh also offers:

  • PACE Focus Modules: Collision-specific microlearning modules for remedial and ongoing training, as well as targeted campaigns to improve driving.
  • PACE BYTES: A collection of very short modules that can be used as a refresher course for drivers who have already completed the PACE Behavioral Driving program.
  • PACE Coaching Guide:  A guide designed with specific PACE training resources targeted for remedial training associated with specific driving incidents.

Marsh's fleet specialty team has extensive experience in fleet safety consulting and has helped organizations reduce the total cost of risk for various types of fleets.
