A turnaround Is the single biggest margin improvement item for any company looking to shut down their assets for necessary maintenance. Turnaround events are high expense in terms of Opex and can result in multiple $k LOT with the unit down for an extended period. Schedule and budget compliance are critical. Getting the planning and execution right first time is key to minimising the cost of the turnaround and reducing the unit downtime to as smaller window as possible.

Below are the key area’s we would look to provide gap assessment, tool development and support for your organisation to be successful. 

  • Work scope review / worklist: Are we executing the right level of work scope in the event for a competitive run, including chem cleaning.
  • Projects & Cost: Large scale projects well integrated into the event planning? Is there clear understanding of cost.
  • Safety Planning: Safety strategy for the event is efficient and effective.
  • Organisation & CAS: Do we have the right team and organisational structure to successfully deliver.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Is the planning being worked to the right level of detail and is progress clear & ratable?
  • Management of Change: Are we managing changes adequately? Work scope / procedure / equipment / DCS or control changes are key to manage.
  • Stewardship & Milestones: Overall turnaround progress in planning and execution clear and visible to all, with key milestones on track?
  • Shutdown, Startup (PSSR) & Interactions: Robust SD/SU procedures reviewed and in place, with a clear PSSR strategy in place. Inventory & flare management are essential.
  • Training & Onboarding: How a site embeds the planning effort into a deliverable package to the execution team.
