Meet Mayssa

How has your education or previous work experience translated to working at Marsh?

As someone with a background in marketing and business analytics, I have found that my education and previous work experience have been incredibly beneficial in my role as a junior placement broker. Specifically, my expertise in data analysis and market research has allowed me to quickly understand the needs and preferences of clients, identify potential risks, and provide tailored insurance solutions. Additionally, my experience in sales and customer service has helped me build strong relationships with clients and communicate complex insurance information in a clear and concise manner.

How does Marsh support you in giving back to your communities?

I am proud to work for a company that places a high value on giving back to the community. Marsh supports employee volunteerism and community involvement through various initiatives such as donation matching, paid volunteer time off, and community outreach programs. As a result, I feel empowered to make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work, which in turn fosters a sense of pride and commitment to our company and its values.

Tell us something important about your family or background that helped form the person and colleague you are today.

One of the most important aspects that helped shape the person and colleague I am today, is the strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, that my parents ingrained in me. They taught me about responsibility and dedication from a young age which carried over into my professional life. My goal is to consistently deliver high-quality work while maintaining a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow.
In addition to a strong work ethic, they instilled in me the importance of always being kind. I believe that it is crucial to maintain a humble, and respectful demeanour, regardless of obstacles or conflicts that may arise.

What is the most meaningful advice you’ve received?

The most meaningful advice I have received is to never stop learning and growing. I recognise the importance of continuous learning and development in a constantly evolving industry, and this advice has been instrumental in helping me approach each day as an opportunity to learn something new, to take on challenges with a growth mindset, and to continually push myself to be the best version of myself.
