Michael Li
CEO, Marsh China
Mr. Li started his career in insurance with China Pacific Insurance Company Limited's Head Office in 1991 as a property and casualty underwriter. In 1993, he became an Aviation & Space underwriter at CPIC Head Office and in this capacity his responsibilities included managing the space & aviation business for CPIC. Projects & clients included Apstar I, II, IA, CAAC Fleet, Airport Owner/Operator's Liability for Beijing Capital, Shanghai Hong Qiao & other top 5 international airports in China, Hainan Airlines and Wuhan Airlines. In 1994, Mr. Li was appointed as the Division Chief of International Business Department and was promoted to Deputy Director of Business Department.
In 1997, he joined Marsh & McLennan Company as Deputy Chief Representative of the Shanghai Representative Office and was promoted to the head of J&H Marsh & McLennan Shanghai Representative Office in 1999. He has substantive client management experience as well as extensive experience regarding project insurance arrangements.
Michael Li was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marsh Inc. in October 2005. Nominated as Shanghai office head in Sept. 2011. Michael Li was promoted to China CEO, Managing Director in November 2014.
In addition, Mr. Li has strong connections to the government, local authorities as well an in-depth understanding of the insurance industry in China and abroad.
Michael completed his Master Degree of Business Administration from East China University.
