New Zealand Earthquake (February 2011)On 22 February, New Zealand’s third largest city, Christchurch, was struck by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake. The quake has caused extensive damage to buildings, roads, and water systems, and follows a 7.1-magnitude earthquake in the city on 4 September 2010.
